1. About This Page
This page supplements the Studio Sadola Privacy Policy and describes how tranext (the "Software") handles information. It does not override that policy, and anything not covered here is governed by it.
2. Communications for License Activation and Starting a Trial
When the User performs Activation online, the Software sends the License Key, a Machine Code generated from device hardware information, and the operating system type, and receives a signed activation code. The Machine Code hashes hardware identifiers; the underlying hardware information itself is not sent. Choosing offline activation avoids this communication from the Software. The routine license check at startup is performed on the device and does not involve network communication.
When the User starts the free trial, the Software sends the Machine Code and a value indicating the start operation to register the trial, and receives its status, start time, remaining days, and configured duration. This communication does not occur unless the User starts the trial, but the trial cannot be started offline. After the trial has started, the startup check is performed on the device and does not involve network communication.
For online License Activation, starting a trial, and other communications with our APIs, we process the source IP address for rate limiting to prevent abuse. We do not retain this source IP address.
3. What the Software Does Not Send
The Software does not automatically send audio data, transcription results, AI conversation content, materials generated by AI, usage statistics, operation history, or error logs (except when the User chooses to send them under Section 6).
4. Catalog and Update Checks and Downloads
At startup and every 24 hours thereafter while the Software is running, the Software retrieves a signed model catalog from its distribution source using a GET request. No User data is sent in this communication. This communication cannot be disabled through the normal settings.
By default, the Software automatically checks for engine updates at startup and automatically downloads an available update. It retrieves update information, engine binaries, and their hashes from engine distribution sources; for some engines, it also connects to the GitHub API or a distribution source to check or download candidates. Automatic update checks and automatic downloads can each be disabled separately in Settings.
By default, at startup the Software queries the app-update distribution source and retrieves update information for the selected channel. This automatic check can be disabled in Settings, and the User can also check manually. The app update itself is downloaded as an operating-system-specific package only when the User chooses to download it. No such download occurs without that action, and a download in progress can be canceled.
5. Model Search and Downloads and Importing from a URL
Only when the User searches for an AI model using a non-empty search query does the Software send that query to Hugging Face. Searches within the catalogs of transcription and speaker-separation models are performed on the device and do not send the query. When the User selects and downloads a model, the Software retrieves the selected file from Hugging Face or another distribution source. These communications do not occur unless the User performs the relevant action, and a download in progress can be canceled.
Only when the User imports from a user-specified HTTP or HTTPS URL in Pro or during an active Trial does the Software connect to that URL and its delivery destinations to retrieve audio or video. This communication does not occur unless the User performs the import, and a download in progress can be canceled.
6. Feedback and Diagnostic Information
Only when the User sends feedback, the Software sends the subject, category, message, any email address the User enters, the version of the Software, and the type of operating system, CPU, and GPU (product names are not included). If the Software is activated, it also sends the License Key and machine code so that we can identify which license the inquiry concerns. These are used only for that check and are not stored in their original form.
When sending feedback, the User can choose whether to include diagnostic information. It is not included by default. Only if the User chooses to include it, the Software shows a list of the included items and their size before sending, and sends it after the User has reviewed them. Diagnostic information consists of the versions of the Software and the operating system; the types of CPU and GPU (product names are not included); the operating environment, such as memory and free disk space; the license type and status; settings (on/off and numeric items only; values the User entered freely, such as file locations, are recorded only as "set"); and diagnostic records from up to the last seven days (types of operations and processing, time taken, and error types; older records are omitted when a size limit is exceeded, and record identifiers are replaced by single-use values each time information is sent). It does not include audio data, transcript text, AI conversation content, License Keys, file or folder locations, file names, URLs or host names, or computer names. If sending the diagnostic information fails, the User can choose to send the feedback again without it.
Diagnostic information we receive is stored in storage provided by Cloudflare, our service provider, and is automatically deleted 90 days after submission. It can be viewed only by those Studio support staff who need it to respond to the inquiry. Inquiry messages and email addresses are anonymized one year after the inquiry is resolved. Email addresses are stored encrypted. We do not retain source IP addresses; only rate-limiting counters are kept for 60 seconds.
7. Web Search
Web Search is disabled by default. Only when the User enables a search service in Settings, also enables Web Search for the conversation, and the AI performs a search does the Software send the API key, if one is configured, together with the search query, result count, and related parameters to the configured search service. Disabling Web Search either in Settings or for the conversation prevents this search communication.
When the AI determines that a page is needed, the Software connects to an HTTP or HTTPS URL and retrieves the page text only if the URL satisfies the connection rules, including any destination-specific allow or deny decision. This can be prevented by disabling Web Search or denying the destination.
If Web Protection is enabled and a verification public key was configured when the Software was distributed, the Software retrieves a signed protection list from its distribution source using a GET request. Disabling Web Protection prevents this request. The current default public key is empty, so this retrieval does not occur under the default configuration.
